Boulderites: STAY INSIDE NOW.

There is a "shelter in place" order in an area within a two-mile radius of 63rd and Monarch in Boulder County. Do not go outside. There was a hazardous materials spill.

I'd never heard of such a thing as a shelter in place order, but they make lots of sense for a crisis like this one. I'd also consider closing windows and doors, and turning off the fans in ventillation systems that bring air in from outside.

Ten people were hospitalized, 150 were evacuated from the plant (many losing their clothes to a decontamination process) and many more wre forced to shelter in place. But, no one was killed. The toxic plume was unrelated to the operations at the site and instead involved some flooring epoxy.
